In one of Europe’s major hubs for marine life, there are about 2,500 Mediterranean and tropical organisms. Visitors to CretAquarium get a rare chance to discover the wonderful Mediterranean Sea environment.
The variety of marine life is displayed against a backdrop of Cretan underwater seascapes, such as the cliffs at Matala (South Crete) and the seafloor at Vai (Southeast Crete), which range in size from big predatory sharks to small sea horses and magnificent jellyfish. A new addition to the aquarium’s experiences is the 4D room, where the sea life can be explored first-hand.
